The MicroButton packs 4K
or 8K bytes of memory
into a package smaller in diameter than the eraser on a #2 pencil.
Measuring just 7.56 mm (0.298 inches) in diameter by 2.11 mm (0.083
inches) high and weighing approximately 0.17 grams (0.006 ounces) the
MicroButton is the perfect marking technology when your application
requires a small footprint (e.g. electronic circuit boards or calibrated
tools).
ButtonMemory technology is a family of rugged, battery
free, read/write identification devices designed to support universal
automatic identification applications on components and equipment. When
attached to equipment and related components a memory button functions as
an electronic log book (portable data base) to advance configuration
management, maintenance record keeping, asset tracking, and other
logistical support functions through out the item’s life cycle.
The technology has completed successful testing using
rigorous military standards, including: temperature extremes, radiation,
electrostatic discharge (ESD), electromagnetic interference (EMI),
electromagnetic pulse (EMP), shock, vibration, solvents and saltwater.
MacSema also manufactures a variety of handheld Button
readers. ButtonMemory systems are designed to take full advantage of off
the shelf software allowing integration with industry standard hardware
platforms. Password protection and data encryption are designed into the
system. Performance can be tailored to specific applications. Data is
retained indefinitely.
