MacSema’s new MicroButton packs 4K bytes of memory into a highly durable package smaller in diameter than the eraser on a #2 pencil. Measuring just 5.52 mm (0.2175 inches) in diameter by 2.2 mm (0.0825 inches) high and weighing approximately 0.17 grams (0.006 ounces) the MicroButton is the perfect marking technology when your application requires a small footprint to track data on circuit boards, calibrated tools and other precision assets.

The MicroButton is the newest member of the ButtonMemory family of rugged, battery free, read/write identification devices. When attached to an asset a Button functions as an electronic log book (portable data base) to enable configuration management, maintenance record keeping, asset tracking, and other logistical support functions (on the asset) through out the asset’s life cycle. Buttons are available in a variety of physical sizes (MicroButton, MiniButton™, and MegaButton™ ) with memory capacities up to 8 megabytes.

ButtonMemory technology is impervious to most operating environments, including: temperature extremes, radiation, electrostatic discharge (ESD), electromagnetic interference (EMI), electromagnetic pulse (EMP), shock, vibration, solvents and saltwater.

MacSema also manufactures a variety of handheld Button readers. ButtonMemory systems are designed to take full advantage of off the shelf software allowing integration with industry standard hardware platforms. Password protection and data encryption are designed into the system. Performance can be tailored to specific applications.
