BYTE MINIBUTTON NOW AVAILABLE
MacSema announces the addition of
a 64K byte MiniButton to it’s family of highly survivable ButtonMemory
products. The new 64K button has been designed into the same physical size
package as MacSema's 32K MiniButton, which measures 14.3mm (0.56 in) in diameter
by 2.8mm (0.11in) high and weighs just .77 grams (.027 ounces). Data is
retained indefinitely.
A ButtonMemory is a rugged,
battery free, read/write identification device designed to support universal automatic
identification applications on components and equipment. When attached to
equipment and related components a memory button functions as an electronic log
book (portable data base) to advance configuration management, maintenance
record keeping, asset tracking, and other logistical support functions through
out the item’s life cycle.
The 64K byte ButtonMemory offers
extended data storage capabilities. The ability to
quickly view critical information via a lap top or pen based computer saves both
time and money for maintenance personnel and asset managers, eliminating the
need to look for, or refer back to, a manual. Maintenance diagrams and
instructions are available on site immediately.
ButtonMemories have completed
successful testing using rigorous military standards, including: temperature
extremes, radiation, electrostatic discharge (ESD), electromagnetic interference
(EMI), electromagnetic pulse (EMP), shock, vibration, solvents and saltwater.
MacSema also manufactures a
variety of handheld Button readers. ButtonMemory systems are designed
to take full advantage of off the shelf software allowing integration with
industry standard hardware platforms. Password protection and data encryption
are designed into the system. Performance can be tailored to specific
applications.
